this past weekend i got a new pet, Lulu! she’s a sugar glider (a small, chipmunk-like marsupial that glides like a flying squirrel, has a monkey-like tail that can grab stuff, has opposable thumbs like a human on their hands and feet, and is about as intelligent as a dumb dog), and I got her through a small company, pocket pets, that places homes for sugar gliders by touring breeder and home conventions across the country. they place a lot of emphasis on educating new owners about the animals, which are not at all like a dog or cat or any other common household pet and require special care. they are a small company that is expanding and always looking for new ways to reach the public (last week they were on The Late Show).
I mentioned I was a student at RISD and taking an interactive media course and was encouraged to make an educational game for their site. If they like it and use it, I get a refund for little Lulu, which would be great (sugar gliders are expensive little buggers). Right now the game is very incomplete and buggy and fragmented, but here is my progress (flash file).
120 frame animation. 2 of the objects are supposed to move naturally, one with a mind of its own. It’s got some kinks but the thing I concentrated on most is the hammer bouncing. Thar she blows!
This was what I made for a pop quiz in IMM today. In flash, we were to make 3 movieclips (bunnies) and 3 buttons (carrots) that affected various properties of the clips. The properties we were supposed to change were predefined, so that’s why this is a little goofy and doesn’t actually make much sense in the context of 3 bunnies and their carrots.
Just hover your mouse over the left carrot. Click on the middle one and right one. Enjoy!
I made this little guy in class yesterday because I was lonely. He doesn’t do very much right now but who knows what the future has in store.
Instructions: play with the yarn. But be careful, kitty doesn’t like to be disturbed…
This is my first assignment for Interactive Mom Media. (My mom really loved this. She really loves shoes and so do I.)
I believe that a person’s shoe collection can say a lot about her (or his) character.
So here, I offer you a glimpse into my closet and soul! (It will take forever to load so if you’re impatient just walk away).
WARNING: The guitar will play music, but there is no way to stop it until the song ends or you exit/reload the page. But its a really good song, so who cares!
